How We Do It
We believe that poverty is more than just an economic circumstance, it is a result of broken relationships. We choose to work alongside selected partners who pursue the holistic restoration of people living in places of great need.

Localisation: Partner-Led projects
We work alongside local partners who have the experience and cultural understanding to implement development interventions that are best suited to the need. Our priority is to build relationships that enable equitable and beneficial partnerships so individuals and communities can be transformed.
Irish Church and Christian Community
We are Christians working in the development and humanitarian sector. Through trusted relationships and quality practices, we enable the Christian community in Ireland to demonstrate love for their global neighbour in practical ways.
We also build relationships with like-minded people who may have a different, or no, expression of faith. As a registered INGO (international non-governmental organisation) we adhere to essential quality standards and humanitarian principles. We are impartial, neutral, and fund projects that benefit vulnerable people in low-income countries without prejudice or discrimination.
In most of the places we work, the local church is firmly established in the communities. This grass-roots network of trusted community leaders helps ensure effective communication, sharing of knowledge, and distribution of resources.
We have many stories of how people from different faith backgrounds have come together to solve challenges and have transformed their communities.
Tearfund Family
We are committed to strengthening the collaborative potential of working with the worldwide family of Tearfund organisations who share a common identity, values, quality standards and ways of working. With some we have close bilateral relationships, with all, we jointly pursue a shared purpose to see the transformation of vulnerable people and communities
Strategic Alliances
We intentionally align with chosen organisations that share a value for a common purpose so we can achieve greater impact together. Our memberships of the Irish Emergency Alliance and Comhlámh are two examples
Values-led
We are intentionally values driven. Committed to our ethos, sustained by our faith, and motivated by hope, we endeavour to model integrity, justice, compassion, adaptability, learning, and excellence throughout our work.
