Global Justice

Development Education is a non-formal approach to helping people consider the inter-connected relationship between us and our global neighbours and how we can work together to transform the world.  Part funded by Irish Aid, our Development Education initiatives offer people in Ireland an opportunity to explore, learn, and take action toward a more just and equal world.

Below we offer a variety of development education tools, materials, and resources to help groups explore global justice issues.

Sustainable Living

At Tearfund Ireland we believe that a better world is possible, that we can respond to the injustice of global poverty in our everyday life and that we are the generation that, together, can end extreme poverty.

We believe that living justly is not a theme to cover once in a while, to sign a petition, give some money, pray a bit and forget about it. We believe it is about integrating rhythms and habits into our lifestyle that will not only change us, but will make a difference to the lives of the world’s poorest people.

Climate Justice

The impact of climate change can be felt in every country in the world and the poorest nations are the most affected. They are also the least responsible. The increasing occurrence and intensity of extreme weather events like drought, floods and hurricanes drive people from their homes; jeopardise their livelihoods and leave communities in desperate situations. Climate change increases the risk of conflict, hunger and poverty.
