Deirdre was a woman of deep faith and always looking for opportunities to bless others through her hospitality, a kind word or financial giving.  She was a trained Counsellor and, volunteering in a crisis pregnancy call centre, supported many young women who could only hear her kind voice and wise words. When she learned about Tearfund Ireland’s work helping children stay in their families and saw photos of women participating in the Self Help Groups she became a passionate supporter.  Each Christmas a donation box was set out and visitors to her home were invited to make a donation to her two favourite charities – Tearfund Ireland and Dublin-Wicklow Mountain Rescue.  Her family are grateful to God for all she taught and imparted to us.

~This donation is from the Taney Society of Change Ringers from Taney Parish in Dundrum. It is in support and sympathy for Dorothy’s daughter Helen, who rings with us. Helen’s tireless work to support the ringing community mirrors the charitable and voluntary work that Dorothy did throughout her long life. While we cannot support Helen by attending the funeral service during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to continue Dorothy Little’s legacy by donating in her name.
