Remembering Cyclone Idai

This month, just over a year ago satellites in space sent emergency images to disaster responding agencies like Tearfund highlighting the flooding and destruction that Cyclone Idai had brought to the Southern African countries of Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. It is estimated that the death toll was close to 1,000 people and approximately 350,000 people lost their homes.

With your help and through partners on the ground in Mozambique, Tearfund Ireland were part of a response in some of the hardest to reach areas, distributing food, basic household goods, seeds and tools, as well as providing psychosocial support and access to clean water. Thank you for your generous support!
